New Vlog Series!

I am thrilled to announce what I hope will be the first of many in a vlog series entitled “Kid Questions.” This is where I sit down and—in two minutes or less—answer kids’ most burning questions about anything and everything. I won’t go so far as to call myself an expert on anything and everything, but I’ve been known to wow the toddlers in my house with the breadth of my knowledge.

(Warning: If you struggle to understand sarcasm, this is not the video series for you or your children. For that matter this is not the blog for you.)

Today, I begin this series with a question straight from one of my own children:

“How did the baby get in mommy’s belly?”

Ooooooooh, yeah. That happened.

Please watch and be amazed as I reenact my succinct yet satisfying answer.

Now for the fun part. I would LOVE for this to become a series where you submit your kids’ questions to me, and I do the hard work of answering them for you. So, send me questions, I will record my answer and then post them here on the blog for you to share with those inquisitive kids of yours. Or maybe not. You should probably watch first and then decide.

Ask away, friends!

What are your kid questions?

If you prefer to email your question(s), you can reach me here: katy@katyinacorner.com.

Omg… I love that you’re doing this vlog series. Pretty sure it’s going to go viral. And I’ll be keeping you supplied with lots of hilarious/complicated toddler questions. 😉

PLEASE do send them my way! I get lots of material from JJ and Averi, but I don’t even know how to turn them into humor sometimes. “Mommy, do you lie?” or “Where is heaven?” Not even kidding. I’m like a deer in the headlights. Which I could record for 2 minutes and publish, but it wouldn’t be that entertaining.

Oh, please people! Send her questions!!! I want this to continue! Oh, wait, my 4 and 2 year old great grandkids are coming to spend a couple weeks with me (with the parents, thank God)! I will listen very closely for questions!!!! Ones other than “why” 4-15 times after each sentence you speak to them. Oh, yes, I’m sure I’ll have some. So glad you are volunteering to help all of us out here with your knowledge and expertise! And your dad might even have something to say, too!!

Thank you for your dedication to enlighten our lives…..and make us laugh. YOU DA BOMB!!!!!

Send ALL THE QUESTIONS, Dona! This is going to be so much fun. I have a feeling there is no shortage of kid questions out there in the world. There is only a shortage of how long I can pretend to not know the answer to all of them. 😉 Yes, and I’m with you, “why” is the absolute worst question. I always turn that one back on my kids. “Why do YOU think we shouldn’t eat marbles?” Works like a charm. Good luck with the great grand kiddos! Stock up on kid melatonin. Kidding. (Not kidding.)

Ceceilia (4) wants to know why people can’t live forever and they have to die.
And just an FYI any answer to do with God and eternal Heaven will have her asking why she can’t just go ahead and die…
So I need a good answer to satisfy her but yet keep her wanting to stay around awhile.

Oooooohhhhhhhhh! Good one! Thanks for submitting her question, Cheri. I get lots of questions from our little ones about eternity and the physical location of heaven. These are easy peasy to answer…as long as they’re satisfied with a 45-minute-long explanation. I’ll see what I can do in 2 minutes. Thanks!!!

Not long after caroline was born, I introduced Jackson to Siri. Hr had fun asking how fast can cheetahs run, etc while we were talking to Siri together. And then I left the phone with him and walk away, I hear him ask, “how do doctors help get babies out of mommies’ tummies?” Siri did her “here is a search for “how do doctors….” Good thing he couldn’t quite read and thankfully he didn’t didn’t click image search.

I was definitely humored but baffled that he never asked me! Maybe if you answer the question, your video will pop up when another little kid wants to know!

Oh my, I LOVE this!!! I’m all for helping the youth of today avoid traumatic image/video searches by inundating the Internet with my own clean, totally nonsensical videos. It’s my civic responsibility, really. THANK YOU, Amy, for the great question! Stay tuned…

So, the other day Jordan asked me…what if Adam and Eve didn’t eat the apple and Jesus didn’t die on the cross? I was like, ummm, I guess if they didn’t eat the apple he wouldn’t have needed to die on the cross? From a four year old!!

That’s so sweet, Staci! We had one of those moments last night during our family worship. Averi asked if God could live in her heart, and then we started talking about Heaven. I wish I could record those moments so I won’t forget them.

How did the baby get in Mommy’s tummy? God puts the baby there.

Of course, that answer doesn’t make for an amazingly hilarious vlog. Keep them coming!! Please!

That would have been the most satisfying answer for ME…but I doubt their inquisitive minds would have stopped there. 😉 Thanks for the encouragement, Monica! I can’t wait to post my next vlog!
